José L. Albarracin is a native of Colombia and has lived in the United States most of his life. After high school, he joined the US Navy. While in the Navy, he obtained several certifications in the hazardous material field. He moved to Miami, Florida after serving in the Navy and worked for Miami Dade Department of Environmental Resources. Currently, he is continuing his education in the Biological Resources Engineering field and plans to attend the University of Maryland. He enjoys scuba diving and has obtained advanced diver certification. In his spare time, José plays ice hockey and tennis.
