Portfolio Projects - TechLEAP

This website is the teaching product from TechLEAP/WebLEAP's Portfolio Building class during the Fall 2010 term. The site is based on the "Fireworks to Dreamweaver" sections of Richard Lowery's Adobe CS4 Web Workflows textbook.  The web site features 508-compliant accessible navigation using text-readable lists and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) markup.  Each student personalized the web site with individual images.

Fireworks Comp

The site draft was first prepared in Fireworks. You can preview the final Fireworks navigable "comp."   The first half of the course covered Fireworks layers, pages, master pages; Graphics: resizing, optimizing, and exporting using Fireworks and its the Export Wizard;  Vector graphics: filters, masks, and other effects.  We then created Fireworks "hotspots," i.e., navigable HTML "image maps, so the individual Fireworks pages could be previewed in a browser.  In the second half of the course, we created a Dreamweaver site and exported foreground and background images to reproduce the Fireworks graphic "comp" as a fully functioning web site with "accessible" navigation.

Pancakes

We created pancakes in Fireworks to teach layers.
Some pancakes are better than others!

Fireworks Comp - Prototype

We first prepared a Fireworks "Comp"  prototype web site.  We modified graphics, designed vector graphics, added navigation, and exported the pages with HTML image mapping
