Montgomery College Foundation Scholarship
Application Form

Deadline: June 7, 2010

Read the requirements for the scholarship as found on the application form.

Generally, these scholarships are available for students who are in good academic standing (generally a 3.0 grade point average or higher) and/or have financial need.

In addition, applicants must be enrolled for at least six credit hours and, ideally, should be U.S. citizens or eligible non citizens.

Limited assistance is available for non citizens. We strongly encourage applicants for this scholarship to apply for financial aid through the FAFSA in addition to completing this application.

You must attach additional sheets for the essay questions. Return the application to the address of the financial aid office where you attend classes.

Remember to sign and date your application.

You may also visit your MC financial aid office to obtain a paper application if you are not able to download the form. One foundation scholarship application is needed for all of these scholarships.

Please note, the majority of scholarships are selected by the sponsor/donor. Students are strongly encouraged to apply for financial aid since the majority of scholarships are based on need.

Kendall Scholarship

We choose a "sophomore" student for the fall & spring semesters. The scholarship covers 15 credits of in-county tuition and fees at MC and your junior and senior years tuition at University at Shady Grove.

Scholarship Criteria: Candidates should be strong students with a 3.00 GPA or higher, demonstrate financial need, must be a U.S. Citizen, and To apply you must complete the Montgomery College Foundation Scholarship application.

Be sure to label it "Kendall Scholarship" at the top of the application.

Students currently enrolled in high school and taking classes at Montgomery College (MC) may apply for the following need-based grants:


Maryland State Dual Enrollment Grant

Applicants for this grant and their parents must be permanent residents of Maryland. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents attending a secondary school in Maryland. The grant may pay the cost of one three credit hour course per semester, depending on available funds. Home-schooled students are not eligible for this grant.


MC Board of Trustees High School Grant

Applicants for this grant must be Montgomery County high school students. The grant may pay the cost of one three credit hour course per semester, depending on available funds. Currently, home-schooled students pursuing a high school diploma are eligible for this grant.
MC College Institute Grant

Applicants for this grant must be Montgomery County high school students enrolled in the MC College Institute. The grant may cover tuition, fees, and books for courses.

Go to the federal financial aid web site to complete your FAFSA online. File the Free Application for  Federal Student  Aid and name MC to receive a copy of the results. (Title IV Code 006911) Get the directions on how to complete your MC financial aid file by downloading required forms from the secure web site MYMC. Register, attend and pass your classes. Courses must be taken for credit and must lead to a degree or an eligible certificate.
