Student Services

College isn’t just classes--outside activities are an important part of the whole experience, too. At MC, there’s always a lot going on--movies, plays, festivals, art exhibits, brown bag lunch discussions, symposia. You can become involved with student publications, radio stations, and government. Or you can pursue a special interest through one of the more than 40 campus clubs and organizations. At MC, athletics are considered an integral part of a student’s education. We have rigorous programs open to all full-time students interested in competing in football, soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, cross-country, golf, lacrosse, volleyball and track.

MC provides an array of services to help students reach their educational goals, including counseling and advising, child care, learning labs, disability support services, and career/transfer centers where students can get guidance on how to reenter the job market, pick appropriate courses, and assess their abilities. For more information on services for students, please call the Office of Student Activities on any campus.

They work closely with their employers and a faculty adviser to ensure integration of academic and practical experiences. Before taking their first co-op assignment, students must complete at least 12 semester hours, 6 credits in their major, and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Co-op students will work a minimum of 225 hours during the semester. The work schedule is determined by the student and the employer.

Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services (DSS) are provided on each campus of Montgomery College to ensure that all qualified students with disabilities have access to College programs and services. Counselors are available on each campus to provide assistance to students with disabilities.

Any student with a disability who can benefit from the programs and services of the College and is enrolled or planning to enroll in classes is eligible for services. DSS does not diagnose or treat disabilities. Students are responsible for providing medical and/or educational documentation so that DSS can determine eligibility and appropriate accommodations.

Services may include help to arrange for readers, note-takers, scribes, recorded texts, provisions for accessible parking, sign language interpreters, testing accommodations (extended time and alternative sites), and liaisons with external agencies and other College resources.

Students requiring support services need to register and submit a Request for Services Form directly to the counselor who works with students with disabilities at the campus they plan to attend. This should be done at least three weeks prior to the last day of regular registration.
